Booking terms.

The terms that apply when you plan and book a tailor-made trip with Pampas & Peaks.

    About these terms

These terms apply to trips arranged by Pampas & Peaks, Ing. Enrique Butty 275, C1001 Buenos Aires, Argentina. Please read them before you confirm a booking. Your booking confirmation will set out the details of your trip and any terms specific to it; where the two differ, the confirmation applies.

    Enquiries and quotes

Enquiries are free and do not commit you to anything. We will send you a proposal and a written quote for your trip. Availability is not held until a booking is confirmed, and a quote is valid for the period stated on it.

    Confirming a booking

To book, you accept the quote in writing and pay the deposit shown on it. A contract between you and us exists once we have received both and sent you a written booking confirmation. The person who makes the booking accepts these terms on behalf of everyone travelling and must be at least 18.

    Payment

The deposit and the date the balance is due are stated on your quote and confirmation. Some services, such as certain flights, permits or peak-season stays, may need full payment at the time of booking; we will tell you before you book. If the balance is not paid on time we may treat the booking as cancelled by you, and the cancellation charges below will apply.

    Prices

Prices are quoted in the currency shown on your quote and include the services listed there. Anything not listed, such as international flights, travel insurance, visas, park entry fees payable locally, meals not stated and personal expenses, is not included. Once your booking is confirmed we will only change the price where we are permitted to by law, for example because of new government taxes or fees, and we will explain any change in writing.

    Changes by you

If you want to change your trip after it is confirmed, tell us in writing as soon as possible. We will do our best to help, but cannot guarantee that every change is possible. Any costs our suppliers charge us for the change will be passed on to you, together with a reasonable administration fee that we will tell you about before you agree.

    Cancellation by you

You can cancel at any time by writing to us. Because we commit money to hotels, transport and other suppliers on your behalf, cancellation charges apply. They are set out on your quote and confirmation and increase as the departure date gets closer. Where a supplier refunds us, we will pass the refund on to you.

    Changes or cancellation by us

Travel in Argentina depends on airline schedules, weather and local conditions, so we may occasionally need to change part of your trip. If the change is minor we will tell you as soon as possible. If it is significant, you can accept it, accept a suitable alternative, or cancel and receive a full refund of what you have paid us. We will not cancel your trip after confirmation except for reasons beyond our control or because you have not paid; in those cases we will refund what you have paid us, less any costs already incurred that cannot be recovered where the law allows.

    Events beyond our control

We are not responsible for changes, delays or cancellations caused by events that neither we nor our suppliers could foresee or avoid, such as extreme weather, natural disasters, strikes, airline schedule changes, epidemics, political unrest or official travel advice against travel.

    Travel insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of booking. It should cover cancellation, medical treatment and repatriation, and the activities in your itinerary, from the day you book. We may ask for the policy details before you travel.

    Passports, visas and health

You are responsible for holding a valid passport, any visas or entry permits, and any vaccinations or health documents required for Argentina and any country you pass through. Requirements change, so check official government sources before you travel. We will share general information where we can, but it is not a substitute for official advice. Tell us about any medical condition or mobility needs that may affect your trip.

    Our responsibility to you

We will arrange your trip with reasonable skill and care and choose our suppliers carefully. We are not liable for loss or damage caused by you or your travel companions, by a third party not connected with the services we provide, or by events beyond our control. Where our suppliers are bound by international conventions, such as those that apply to airlines, our liability is limited in the same way. Our liability for loss that is not personal injury or death is limited to the price of your trip, except where the law does not allow such a limit.

    Your responsibilities

Please follow local laws, the instructions of park rangers and our suppliers, and safety advice during activities. We or our suppliers may refuse to continue providing services to anyone whose behaviour puts others at risk.

    Complaints

If something is not right during your trip, tell the supplier and us straight away so we can try to put it right on the spot. If a problem is not resolved, write to us at [email protected] within 28 days of your return and we will respond as quickly as we can.

    Governing law

The law that applies to your contract, and the courts that can hear any dispute, are stated in your booking confirmation. Nothing in these terms affects the rights you have under the consumer law of the country where you live.
